People 'happy with IFAs' - PI for IFAs

The majority of consumers are happy with the services they receive from independent financial advisers (IFA), the publication of new research shows.

In a study carried out by NMG Financial Services Consulting, some 73 per cent of those who have used an IFA affiliated with Sesame claimed that they would either "definitely" use their adviser again and/or recommend them to friends and family members.

Meanwhile, IFAs may be interested to hear 18 per cent said they are "very likely" to use an IFA again or recommend their services.

The study forms part of Sesame's treating customers fairly assessment, which looks to monitor consumers' satisfaction with their IFAs.

Ivan Martin, executive chairman for Sesame, states: "This independent research reinforces the huge value that people place in professional financial advice and the positive impact that this can have on their future financial wellbeing."

Earlier this month, Doug Robare, financial and professional lines manager for Zurich, told Insurance Times that the current economic climate acts as a reminder for both IFAs and companies to ensure that they have comprehensive Professional Indemnity insurance (PI) in place.
